A Great Move in Mexico
The trip to Mexico was an excellent experience for everyone who went. In Iguala, the Christian Education Conference went beyond expectations. The vision for Christian schools was well received and is now moving forward. The church body in Iguala has commited to the heart of the Father in training laborers. The kingdom of God is expanding, and it is very exciting.
The seniors were able to minister to and share with the local youth group. The group stayed with a missionary family, the Lohners. They have been missionaries in Mexico for over 20 years. Everyone was blessed by the fellowship that was shared during this time.
On the following Monday, the group traveled south to Oaxaca. Once there, they traveled three more hours into the mountains to the small town of Cuicatlan. The orphanage, Casa Hogar, houses 24 children, and it is run by Pastor Esteban and Hilda who have four children of their own. They have been doing this work for over two years. Pastor Esteban shows the love of Jesus in his vision for the orphanage.
The group helped build a retaining wall and moved over two tons of dirt from inside a construction zone. The days were hot and long, but the seniors never complained. They worked endlessly to complete the job. In fact, the workers there complimented our students as being the most spiritual and hard working group that they had worked with in the area.
The most impacting part of the time in Cuicatlan was the children. They captured our heart and demanded our complete attention. A great relationship was built with the children and the workers at Casa Hogar. God linked their hearts and spirits with ours. Each person who was on the trip was deeply impacted by the great love that Jesus has for the nations. There is no one too great or too small who is not in His heart. His kingdom is advancing, and we are a part!
Alumni Athletic Event
On Thursday, April 2, 2009, at 6:00 p.m., we will have our annual Alumni Athletic Event. Former Warrior basketball players get a chance to come together in games against our girl's and boy's varsity basketball teams. Also, the elementary students will participate and have fun in half-time games.
We will have our annual traditional SENIOR PIE THROW. One dollar buys you a pie to throw at your favorite senior's face. We encourage everyone to come and enjoy a fun family- friendly time together.
The concession stand will be open offering chili dogs, popcorn, hot dogs, nachos, and more. Admission is $4 for adults, $2 for students and children ages 4 and up, and children ages 3 and under are free.
Financial Commitment
Your financial commitment is a seed that you are sowing into the life of your child. It is valuable and meaningful. We are believing for God to bless your household and prosper you in every good way.
Athletic Banquet
Our annual Athletic Banquet will be Thursday, April 16, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. This is a time to celebrate and honor our athletes on both our junior high and varsity teams. We will be in the auditorium and will begin with dinner. The cost for adults/students is $10, for children is $6 (under 12), and children ages 2 and under are free. Basketball players will be selling tickets after the first of the month.
The art auction this year will be different than in years past. We will have fewer art pieces. A donation of $10 will give you a chance to win a particular piece of art with a drawing at the end of dinner. Come and enjoy the evening with us!
WFC Candy Bar Fundraiser
The WFC Fundraiser has come to an end. We were able to raise approximately $3,500 to help toward the general budget of the school. Thanks for all your support for this fundraising event!
