It Doesn't Get Much Better Than This - Meet Coach Gilbert & Family

We would like to introduce to you the new junior high head coach and the varsity assistant coach for the 2008-09 school year. His name is Anthony Gilbert, and he is originally from Liberal, Kansas. He is married to Michelle and they have two lovely children, Alexis (6) and Micah (18 months).
It is a great testimony how Anthony came to be a part of us. He shared that an elder at his church, Li

ving Word, gave him a prophetic word to "chase his dreams." He began to pray and seek God for what this meant, and the following week he had a dream. In that dream he was teaching and coaching in a Christian school. The moment he awoke, the Holy Spirit revealed to him that the dream confirmed the word spoken to him by the elder.
Anthony had known about the school and approached Sam Matthews and Chris Belyeu to pray with him and seek direction. God continued to confirm His word and the Holy Spirit revealed to Anthony that this was the door he was supposed to walk through. God spoke to both Sam and Chris that this was God's direction, so they offered Anthony a position at the school. He says, "I love working with the kids and the fact that I get to teach at a Christian institution. It doesn't get much better than to be able to teach kids something that I love and share God's love openly in the classroom."
He shared that one of his goals in being here is to help all the students experience God's power in a new way. It is his desire to not only teach the game of basketball, but also to train these young men and women as laborers to touch the world for Christ. Of course, he is excited to hopefully coach the teams to win the state championship title. Ultimately he says, "I am just excited to be here and see what God is going to do!"

Cookie Dough Fundraiser

We are getting ready for the annual Cookie Dough Fundraiser. This year it begins on Wednesday, October 29! Sales continue through Tuesday, November 11. Each year we conduct a series of fundraising efforts to be able to supplement the budget of the school. These fundraising times are essential to our school's tuition plan.
We ask each student to sell a minimum of 8 tubs of cookie dough. Separate incentives are provided for secondary and elementary students who sell 15 or more tubs and turn in their order forms by Tuesday, November 11. Our experience shows that the students who achieve the largest sales volume begin on the first day. The due date comes more quickly than you think. More information and an order form will be sent home on Wednesday, October 29. We pray for you to have favor and success as you participate in this endeavor.

Report Cards

Report cards will be mailed or sent home on Wednesday, October 22. If you have any questions or you would like to discuss your child's achievement with the teacher, please call the office. Class and enrollment fees must be paid to receive your child's report card.

Basketball Parent Night

On Tuesday, October 7, we will be hosting a meeting for the basketball players and parents. The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. We will discuss the upcoming season. The season is not far away -- our first game is on Friday, October 31. Please bring your calendar so you can sign up for a variety of volunteer rosters. It is very important for everyone to be at this meeting. However, if you cannot attend for some reason, please call the office to let us know.

Senior Activities

This is a busy time for our seniors. They have much to do to get ready for their senior mission trip this spring. The seniors will be involved in a variety of activities to raise funds for this trip. They are doing pizza school lunches, car washes, candle sales, garage sales, and "slave-for-a-day."
Also, they will be involved in running an Oklahoma State University concession stand. There are four more games which are on October 4 and 18, and November 1 and 29. These events are great opportunities for our seniors to raise money for their trip, and we are very excited about what this opportunity will do in their lives. Be praying for blessings upon each of these endeavors!

Financial Commitment

We appreciate the financial commitment of every family. Enclosed with your monthly newsletter, you will find a monthly financial statement listing charges and payments. Please remember that class fees are due no later than the end of the first nine weeks (October 17). We appreciate your prompt payment of tuition.
