Where is your secret place? Is it in your garden? Is it in your house? Is it out in a field? Our secret place should always be our continual walk in God’s presence, because that secret is between you and your Father.
He wants a continual connection not just sometimes.
Psalm 16:8, “I have set the Lord continually before me, because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”
Timothy, I know in whom I have believed and I am convinced He is able.
Sometimes God speaks the same word over and over again, because He wants us to understand it.
The times when we wonder if God is still there are when we prove that God is continually before us.
The secret place speaks of the relationship we have with God.
Galatians 3:26, “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 2:19, “So then you are no longer strangers or aliens, you are fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God.”
If He is our Father, we are His children. We are family! Some find it difficult to relate to God as Father because they have never had a right father in the natural. Being able to call Him Father just gives us such a closeness with Him.
He loves us and cares about every minute detail in our lives.
The secret place speaks of abiding.
John 15:7. “If you abide in me and My word abides in you, you will ask what you will it will be given to you.”
Another phase of abiding requires that you do not give up. You have to push and push and push until the answer comes.
The secret place speaks of intimacy.
Philippians 3:10, “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His suffering, being conformed to His death.”
Paul wanted the intimacy, and God is longing for that intimacy with us.
Even in our tears and suffering He will lead us by the hand.
The secret place speaks of His presence.
Psalm 16:11, “In Your presence is fullness of joy.”
When there is no joy, something is wrong. If it is sin, get before Him and say you’re sorry. The Holy Spirit is so faithful to bring things up that you need to get right with God. The blood of Jesus Chris cleanses us from sins.
Acts 2:28, “You have made known to me the ways of life. You will make me full of gladness in Your presence.”
He is always on time. He always meets with you.
Sometimes when you are struggling, God drops a scripture in your heart or has someone call you.
God wants us to experience joy.
The secret place brings us peace.
Stop complaining.
John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you.”
Isaiah 9:6 calls Jesus our Prince of Peace.
We should not allow anything to disturb our peace.
Psalm 119:165, “Great peace have those who love Your law. Nothing causes them to stumble.”
That’s what He does for us.
The secret place speaks of protection.
He protects us along the way. Many times we do not know what lies ahead, but the Holy Spirit gives us warnings.
The Lord is faithful and will strengthen/protect you from the evil one. God is faithful and He will protect us from the evil one.
Psalm 23, “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for You are with me. Your rod and staff comfort me.”
He doesn’t just prepare the way, He protects us in the way.
There are time when you can just lie in bed and feel His arms wrap around you.
The secret place speaks of prosperity.
Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.”
Deuteronomy 29:9, “Keep the words of this covenant and do them that you may prosper in all you do.”
If you want prosperity, live for God.
What has God placed in your hand to sow? Finances play a big part in your sowing, but we have to know where to sow. It is the same with your career and other aspects of your life.
Mark 10:29, “There is no one who has left house or home, or father or mother, or brothers or sisters for the Gospels sake but that he will receive one hundred times as much now in the present age…”
If you do not sow, you will not reap.
Whatever God has said to you, let’s do it. Sometimes you think it is only your mind. When will we learn to obey?
All of these things hang on relationship. The secret place is about relationship.
