Something has shifted at the Meeker Youth Center with the new year. It
seems as though each of the last few services have been marked with a
new and more intimate presence of God touching lives by adding
conviction and a desire to know Him just a little more. It is refreshing to see a very present desire in some of the youth to really reach out and touch God. I
am expecting the weeks and months ahead to produce deepened
relationships and commitment to our great Lord, Jesus Christ, as He
continues to visit us.
This last Thursday night started with some fun as we learned a simple children’s song with a big lesson found inside. We
learned “Oh, Be Careful Little Eyes What You See,” and talked about how
the little compromises we make can slowly and often unnoticeably take
us away from our Lord. Little by little, the
seeming innocent things we listen to, places we go, things we do, and
things we watch can cause us to forget God and give Satan a foothold in
our lives that is not rightfully his. I encouraged everyone to make a concerted effort to pay closer attention to what we allow into our lives. Satan is looking for those whom he may devour, and when he comes to us, I pray he will not have a foothold.
We
have a good time each week at the youth center and would like to invite
all youth ages thirteen and up to join us as we allow ourselves to be
touched by God’s presence. We are an outreach of Family of Faith Fellowship of Shawnee. For more information call 279-4528 during the hours of 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. May God bless you with an increasing presence from Him every day.
